The Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) is a not-for-profit association formed to be the apex body of the Indian defence industry. (SIDM) plays a proactive role as an advocate, catalyst, and facilitator for the growth and capability building of the defence industry in India.

SIDM’s vision is to catalyse the Indian defence industry to effectively contribute to India’s national security and become a trustworthy global partner. Its mission is to work closely with the Government towards enabling the growth of the defence industry and collaborate with experts from the Armed forces, Academia and Defence industry to optimize the industry’s development capabilities. All Indian manufacturing companies are eligible to participate in the SIDM Champion Awards.

Companies with upto max 50% foreign holding and not a subsidiary of a Foreign Company.

SIDM Champion in a particular category can not apply for award in the same category for maximum two more years.

Successful applicants to fill a detailed questionnaire, specific to the category they are competing in, and submit the same along with a Participation Fee.

All companies in the field of Defence manufacturing, technology development, R & D

The fee which is payable in two stages. Partly in application stage and second in participation stage. (Refer to Fee Grid)

Acompany can participate in more than one category. Separate fee is payable for each category

Fee is non-refundable.

SIDM intends to publish a compendium of the Awards. Only the Data permitted by the Company will be made public

Companies are not required to submit technical details of their Innovation/Products to maintain confidentiality

Registrations are open till 25 July 2023

SIDM Champion Awards Compendium

SIDM publishes a Compendium of all eligible entries to the awards. The compendium reflects the capabilities of Indian Companies in Defence and Aerospace. The Compendium – Book of Entries is a designed and printed in very high quality to showcase the products, equipment and technologies developed by the Indian Defence Manufacturers. The Book dedicates itself to align and support the Government initiatives of Aatmnirbhar Bharat in Defence & Aerospace.

The Compendium is circulated to visiting overseas defence delegations, Indian Defence overseas delegations and various defence procurement directorates in Ministry of Defence with the objective of showcasing the Indian Industry capabilities in Defence Manufacturing.

The Compendium is an inspires the Indian Industry to participate in Defence Manufacturing by acknowledging Industry as The Sixth Force.
